Bermuda grass (Arugampul)
Bermuda grass is known by many names such as Doob grass, Arugampul, devil’s grass etc. Also in south India at home regularly use it for worship lord Ganapathy. Bermuda grass can be easily gown in small pots . Absolutely no maintenance required to keep this plant.
Bermuda grass is considered as sacred plant, which has great significance in ayurveda because of its medicinal as well as clinical properties. Bermuda grass has lots of nutritional values. The bermuda grass is rich in calcium, phosphorous, potash, potassium, manganese, protein, enzymes, carbohydrate, fiber, flavonoids. It also helps to reduce acidity and controls sugar and increase in immunity.
Tulsi (Holy basil)
Holy basil, or tulasi or tulsi (also sometimes spelled thulasi) is one of the must plant every house should have. A little sunlight is more than enough to keep this plant. There are two varieties of Tulsi available. One is Rama (Green Leaf) and the other Krishna (Purple Leaf).
A few tulsi leaves boiled with tea, act as preventive of cure cold, Coughs, Sore throat, dengue, malaria fever. Tulsi leaves are pretty effective for the ulcer and infections in the mouth. A few leaves chewed will cure mouth infection.

Solanum trilobatum (Thuthuvalai)
Solanum trilobatum is called as Thuthuvalai in Tamil Language. This plant is a creeper variety. Usually gown in as an ingredient in the daily food. The leaves can be dried, ground to powder and stored. A teaspoon of this powder in glass of milk or hot water daily will give complete cure from cold and cough. Fresh leaves can be used for making chutney. It is also used for preparing soup by adding pepper and jeera, salt. Other benefits inclue cure for throat infection, increase blood circulation and reduce gastric problems.
Balloon vine plant (Mudakathan Keerai in tamil)
Mudakathan keerai ( called Kanphata) is renowned creeper for it’s use in treating joint . It can be used in the form of chutney or be added in dosa batter.
